Welcome to Riverside Garden, located in the historical Riverside neighborhood, in Wichita, Kansas. Riverside Garden is a member of the American Community Garden Association. We are a neighborhood garden space available to both the experienced gardener and the beginner. If you have ever wondered what growing a garden is all about, you should join us!
Our Vision & Mission
VISION: Foster sustainability of urban community and natural environment
MISSION: Strengthen our local urban community, encourage environmental
sustainability, expand healthy eating choices, promote life-long learning, and
vitalize an underused public green space.
To achieve these mission goals, we propose to:
- Work with others committed to building healthy and active communities.
- Develop partnerships and networks with community, public and private
sectors, and government. - Be well-governed, effectively managed, and a sustainable not-for-profit
community organization. - Use best practice organic gardening techniques for our local environment
- Seek the advice and instruction of City and County experts to learn and
update knowledge of best practices - Promote community access to and learning about fresh nutritious food
- Encourage intergenerational and intercultural learning and cooperation
